Sian - BHF

My name is Sian Syddall and I’m the Fundraising Volunteer Manager for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in Shropshire.  I have worked for the BHF since January 2005, and through my job I have had the privilege to meet Colin, Karen and their family. I would like to thank them for their bravery in telling their story and all their hard work promoting our vital cause within the Shrewsbury area. I never had opportunity to meet Lewis, although from what I have heard of him, like his family, he was remarkable, courageous and very special.
Sadly, through the course of my work, I see other children like Lewis and have witnessed the devastating effect that their illness has on those left behind.
The BHF needs local people to help us save other children in the area, and help keep more families together. The BHF funds pioneering research and care for heart patients and their families. By supporting the nation’s heart charity, through a donation of either time or money, you can save lives.
There are many ways to get involved. No experience is necessary; all that is needed is the desire to do something good to help other people and to beat heart disease. Whatever the fundraising idea, we can provide help and advice every step of the way. Support materials like balloons and posters will be provided free of charge.
